Sunflower Variety Trials
Sunflowers are a relatively new crop to the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service performance trials. However, the growing oilseed industry in Oklahoma made it apparent that trials needed to be done. These trials provide producers, Extension educators, industry representatives, and researchers with information on sunflower height, yeild, oil content, lodging, first bloom date and conditions in which the crops were grown. Sunflowers are currently tested at the Stillwater Agronomy research station and the Goodwell research station. For more information on sunflower production, visit the OSU Plant and Soil Sciences department website.
